I mentioned in an earlier post once about the cross-stitch sampler I want to make for Dashiell. Here's a picture of it. It's from a Dutch magazine, Ariadne (Baby en Peuter), back from 1990, before Ariadne in general turned to suck ( Read more... )

That's adorable!

My mom made embrordered pieces for my and my brothers' rooms growing up, and I always loved them. I can't wait to see it when you're done.

Yeah, I don't get why they changed the format... it's not like there's a shortage of home dec "buy these vases and use them in such and such way" magazines.

Yet finding decent craft magazines with free patterns (each month would generally have enough projects to last you that long, or longer), is tough.

Ah well, at least I have the 1980s ones I like ;) There are cute kid's sweaters in a lot of them, not that I've learned to knit yet, but that's beside the point.

That is so cute! I don't even have any munchkins on the horizon, and I'm tempted to make something similar for "some day" (which is not a good idea for someone culling junk to prepare for two moves in the coming months)

Well, I'll be hanging on to this magazine anyway, so if you ever want the chart, just let me know.
