I was really jonesed by the speaker who reaffirmed that although the Church is the true church, this does not render all other faiths as adversaries; indeed, it is entirely probable that Mohammed and (this threw me for a loop) Confucius were spoken to by the same God.
I've been saying this for years, even if before I didn't have explicit backing from the leadership in SLC. :)
Of course! I've always thought that was a given as well. Everyone's entitled to personal revelation. God's no respecter of persons. The difference is one of authority, as my LH reminded me, given by the physical laying on of hands, following anciently established proper procedure.
I liked the focus on service as well. Nice reminder to get outside myself and quit being stupidly selfish.
