Tannusen's Soundtrack

Youtube links are up for extra convenience, but the videos may have nothing to do with Tannu. Linked lyrics may also be incorrect; I can't easily link to my fixed versions while pretending to be anon! *shifty eyes ( Read more... )

Are you familiar with the band the Tea Party? They have a few songs you might check out for Tannu. Especially off their Transmission album. This is one:

"Quiet now she said,
You're waking up the dead, so
I cradle the excuse
In love with the abuse
I handle it with ease
It's a dignified disease
Slow down . . ."

-Gyroscope

Ridiculously, I can't find the Tea Party's version on YouTube, just a cover where you can't even make out the lyrics because they're screaming them so hoarsely, so here's a download link: http://www.mediafire.com/?3ldqx1kndcu

You might also check out Emilie Autumn: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C09nZaCWGk4

She's got a lot of good, dark songs.

Ooh, never heard of either! (I kind of live in a shoebox... under a rock... inside of a cave.) I'll give them both a listen once I'm done arm-flailing around tonight. :D

Sweet. :) I'm kind of a music nut, can't stand to be without music going, even if it's just inside my head, so I'm always pleased to spread the stuff I love~

I have to admit to loving this character. He's heart-breaking. I think my own favorite PC Warden would lock him in a closet and make him drink hot coco while she stood guard with a sword drawn ( ... )

Hahaha, aww. <3 Glad you like him. :)

I'll give these a listen once I've whittled my firefox tabs down to a dull roar. Thanks for the links! :D

These are interesting, though I'd heard a few before.

Am still mulling a couple of 'em over. :3

Replying to myself for later reference (I have a lot of updating to do, suggestions you guys have made have been ~awesome~!) because I have no short-term memory. XD

Are you familiar with Moist? The Canadian rock band from the '90s, sexy dark music, utterly gorgeous frontman.

For example:
Silver
"So close your eyes
Your Christ has come
The crippled boy that you once knew
The charmed enigma chosen one
With painted lips
Skin ripped and torn
Come touch and feel and lick and smell
This envy that I've worn so well."

If you like that one, you might poke about on YouTube and look at some of their other stuff. Push, Tangerine, Resurrection - and also David Usher's Black Black Heart - David Usher is the lead singer of Moist, that sexy-as-hell voice I can't get enough of, and a few of his solo works are just yum.

"Black black heart
Why would you offer more?
Why would you make it easier on me to satisfy?
I'm on fire
I'm rotting to the core
I'm eating all your kings and queens
All your sex and your diamonds."

...LJ never let me know about this comment and since I usually go directly to comment-threads from the notifications I never saw this one. Derp.

I've had black black heart stuck in my head all night now, damn you anon. ;)

Oh yeah, that song does that. It's insidious, sneaks into your head and lurks and then you catch yourself singing "Taste your mind and taste your sex~" in the middle of the grocery store.

(Or at least, I do, but I'm one of those people who lives life like a musical, ready to burst into song at the slightest provocation.)
