This is weird

OK, a couple of days ago a couple of us were talking about the BNP (they had a PEB recently). [Incidentally, did you know - and I'm serious, this is true - one of their ways of trying to raise funds is selling golliwogs? They are beyond satire.] Someone said that it would be a good idea to build a backup Britain somewhere in the middle of the ( Read more... )

I call the Japanese nationalists the Shouty People, as they have the unfortunate habit of driving vans around town polluting it with very loud "patriotic" music. It was rather odd accidentally walking through one of their rallies in full flow (the joys of sorta being able to read kanji).

Other Japanese tend to go "la la la I can't hear or see them", particularly when with me.

I think the best "patriotic" song I heard was a rendition of "when the saints are marching in". All sorts of wrong there.

I'd bet they'd love it on their fake island though :/

That does sound so weird. Are they as... intellectually challenged as our bunch?

I wouldn't mind them loving it on their island if they weren't on this island.

Golliwogs? *Headdesk many, many times*

I love the fake island idea! It would have to be set up as a scientific experiment, with cameras all over the place, each member of the BNP tagged and microphoned, and a dedicated team recording which parts of the economy/society breaks down the fastest.

Could the Island very slowly sink too? Like, say, Venice? Not to endanger them, but to teach them a few values.

I can't see it being the tourist attraction Venice is, though.
