At the shelter

Dec 19, 2009 19:13

Have been at the shelter today and donated Ashati's scratching tree, brought a big box of food and snacks as gift, and spent some time cuddling with the cats, who need a lot of love and attention.

I SO know that "problem". ;) It's hard to resist, but seeing how the animals enjoy the cuddling is worth everything. ^^

*hugs*

I'm impressed you didn't come home with another kitty! :) It is nice that you are able to give during this xmas season.

Hugs,

Not yet, no. We are having plans to give a new cat (or two) a new home next year, but first we have to be 100% sure with Nightfox' allergy (he's already doing a desensitization, but it does not work 100% yet, at least not with every cat).

But it feels so good to be close to cats again. I know Ashati would not mind... (she was from the shelter too).

Ouch, the love for cats and the pain of cat allergy.

Very bad combination. :(

At least nightfox can do a desensitization - i got a heap of other allergic reactions too...no change -.-

*Eyes the drawing in the background of the first picture* Awwww ^^

OF COURSE she wouldn't mind! :) There are also breeds of cats that are hypo-allergenic and have less dander and such than other kitties. They are more expensive than others but there is that nice Egyptian-Mau hybrid mmmmmmmmm. Looks awesome, aparently very bright and playful.

Shelters need all the help they can get, both physically & financially.
Every pound/euro/dollar counts, & every hour of voluntary help is greatly appreciated, both by the staff & the animals.

Absolutely. I have been browsing a lot of animal websites recently (shelters, agencies, etc.)... It hurts so incredibly much to see all the suffering and what they go through to help animals.

I will do a lot more next year to help, if we don't - who will?

*give you warm hugs* Colt and I know how you feel, she had to put her kitten of 7months old, down around this time last year. Be strong, all of your freinds are here for you. and what you did for the shelter..that is amazing. you've made my wife want to volunteer to be a cat cuddler at our local shelter. she sends you warm wishes as well.
