My mother passed away 2 weeks ago, and since no one else in the family sews, I have gotten her sewing machine, a brother innovis 4000D. I set it up last night and just began to bawl

I hope that you are enjoying your machine and that you feel warm feelings and a closeness to your mother when you use it. My mother passed away April 10, 2008, so I can understand how you feel. The last 20 months of her life she lived with me in what was my sewing room and is again, she passed away in it, and I feel close to her when I am in it.
Yesterday at church there was an elderly lady sitting a few rows in front who reminded me of her, and I couldn't look because I was afraid I'd cry. I guess it takes time and although most of my memories are good ones once in awhile the sadness is there too.
