Hiya this is a book I made for an SCA friend in the US featuring her shield and an embroidered version of an italian 15'th century style illuminated R.

Nice to find you on the live journal. I have friended you, and i hope this is ok.
Your embroidery is very nice. As you know i dont have much knolledge with renaissance embroidery, but it looks lovely to me.

Tania,
I read your post on the SCA site and had to go see the pictures. You did a great job. How long did it take to complete the project?

I like to to embroidery but have been so lazy the past few years. I agree on the cross-stitch (boring) and also hard for me to keep track of where I am on the fabric (I tend to be easily distracted).

Keep up the good work.

Hiya Joyce.

Sorry to have been so long in answering this.

I have bad habits. That is I get all fired up on a project, do it exhaustively for a couple of weeks. I loose interest and then return to the project a couple of months later for another couple of fired up weeks. All in all, this project took a year and a half.
