Mummy, I wanna go again!

I just got back from "Phantom" in London (well, not juuust, but close enough). After seeing Les Mis the other week, and being disappointed by the tired, dated and outright ridiculous production, I wondered if perhaps I shouldn't have spent more money on another musical -- and if perhaps POTO will be just as shabby. Given that even with the ( Read more... )

Yay! You saw Phantom! It's amazing isn't it? After seeing it eight times I still can't get enough lol :D ( ... )

I'm kicking myself for passing up the chance to see the previous cast (I know you're a fan :D) -- when I bought the Les Mis tix, I could have also bought POTO tix from the same person. But it was for the next night and it costs too much for me to go London all the time, so I passed. Oh well -- I'll just have to take advantage of the 2-for-1 offer currently on and go again!

It was terrific. I really wish I could go again -- it's so bloody expensive, though!

Looking forward to comparing notes -- particularly interested in that PONR bench scene.

Sounds like you're getting to see a lot of shows over there, which is great - so much more on than Sydney I bet.

Yeah, but I don't live in London, so I have to factor in the time/cost of getting there, too. There's definitely more choice in some things -- ballet, for one! :D

Ramin Karimloo as Phantom? Oh YUM!

I wanna go too.... I saw Earl Carpenter last year, and he was fine, but some of the other cast were a bit lacklustre, and the actor who played Raoul was just too fluffy haired! Very superficial of me to say so, I know, but I'd like to see a solid, stolid Raoul for a change.

Yum is right. You can't really see him under the make-up, but, um, "his voice filled my spirit..." etc. :D Actually more than his voice (which was *fantastic*), it was his acting I really enjoyed. His Phantom is such an interesting, complex character.

The guy who played Raoul was very good too, actually... It's just really not much of a role in the show, compared with the film at least.
