This might have just been too easy...

Language Scholar
You scored a 370 out of 400 on language knowledge.

Outstanding! You've scored higher than even most Anthropology students would. You are probably a Linguistics or Anthropology Professor yourself (or at least a Grad student). You may even speak several languages and are possibly working on ( Read more... )

I got the same rating. But given how many I got wrong, I guess the rest of the quiz-takers must be scoring really really low.

Yeah, I think that's possible. I thought it was fairly easy. I wonder which questions I missed though.

Seriously? I thought it was easy, too. I don't know what I missed though. Remember when we used to color in the maps in E2 (before our capital obsession) with the official language? That helped immensely. Also, my work in linguistics in college didn't hurt :)

Knowing the official languages of Switzerland (say) did not help me with Friulian, Occitan, or Judeo-Spanish. Huh?

True! That is where the linguistics helped. You know that Justin and I love that stuff, though I would never say Judeo-Spanish. It's Ladino! The Friulian question threw me a little as I know that it is also spoken in France, though not originally from there. I assume that it was the correct answer, but not sure. I did feel that Asia/Oceania was shorted. It has some of the best language diversity. I miss linguistics :(
