Cool--for some reason did not expect to see Emily's side of their first encounter. I love that she has (witty) stock responses to categorized types; and how she's intrigued by Emma even as she profiles her. Does Emily suspect at this point that Emma's given her a false name?
The first meeting is one of those things that I really thought needed to be fleshed out from Emily's perspective. They can be so pivotal in forming impressions that it really helps to pin it down. The only other scene I'm going to repeat in as much detail is probably going to be the one where Emma leaves, for similar reasons.
I don't think at this point Emily suspects that Emma has given her a false name. The idea probably doesn't cross her mind until after she visits Emma's apartment and sees evidence that she's moved recently and with without much baggage. Even then it'd only be a possibility, though not finding her on Google makes it a bit more likely in Emily's opinion.
Thanks! It does have to be said that a certain amount of the snark originates from when we wrote Faces. Though, granted, being English ourselves, the accent was something of a low hanging fruit for us.
