It’s a very good story and I found the characterizations to be well in line with my interpretations (with the semi-exception of that one tiny line in part 1). All the way through, your descriptions are really quite powerful without ever going over into the area of annoyingly wordy.

'It's only a flesh wound' Prentiss
-brilliant nickname! Fittingly badass and nerdy at once.

We begin and end in the office- with paperwork. I love circles that are actually spirals (there is a long, boring story behind this statement). Also, as a government employee I can vouch for the fact that everything begins and ends with paperwork- bits of the middle consist of it as well.

I'm kind of fond of that kind of linked end and beginning as well. It has a neatness that appeals to me. The first story I wrote - Control - likewise had an ending that reflected the beginning. (Literally in some ways.) The current story I'm working on also does that. Balances, the planned sequel to this and Faces, doesn't, though, so I'm not obsessed. :)

Thanks again for the commentary. Louisa and I both appreciated it.

For some reason LJ decided to stop notifying me about replies. Strange ( ... )

So ignore that bit about the incomplete line. Obviously it already has ellipses and is just fine. I can only say that sometimes I decide it's a good idea to write replies when I haven't had nearly enough sleep. >.
