I'm so glad I stumbled onto this story! I love the way Emma's thoughts were portrayed and her whole POV in general. She used to be so complex and fascinating in the comics but recent writers have turned her into something flat. Also on the Vicki note, I thought that Vicki's disappearing was more emotionally poignant than any particular closing scene with her story-wise.

Thanks for the comment! It's always nice to know that someone's enjoyed your work. We had a lot of fun putting together Emma's POV and little quirks.

Regarding Vicky - yeah, I couldn't think of any other way to end her tale within this story. As much as anything, she represented doing things the same old way. Emma looks after strays. Vicky runs. Both are ways of not actually dealing with the problem at hand. And both can fail, for certain values of failure.

I have never seen X-men and had no idea who Emma Frost was, but after reading the first chapter I was hooked. Probably some of the best, most realistic FF sex scenes I've *ever* read before (far too many of them leave me wondering if the author has ever actually HAD sex with a girl before) - but not only was this completely realistic and convincing, it was written in such a way that made the prose itself fascinating, which further contributed to its eroticism. I'm about to read your other fics now. I write, too, (katecholamine @ fanfic.net and AO3) and although I've been focusing on Prentiss/Reid, you've inspired me to branch out from my OTP and write a femslash pairing next. The world of fanfic deserves realistic depictions of female-female sexual dynamics. Brilliant.

Thanks! As mentioned elsewhere, the sex scenes were a cause of some stress for us, since neither of us had even tried to tried to write any before. So it was something of an experiment. (Result: I can't write them, but I can rope in someone who can.)

I'll look you up, though I do tend to avoid het stories for various reasons. (No interest in het sex, and the seemingly endemic power imbalances are the primary ones.) Are there any stories in particular you'd recommend? And I'd definitely be interested in reading any ff stories you write. :)
