I've been thinking - a LOT - about this post, and how meaningful it is in the lives of others.
To a certain extent, it describes the place I'm at in life right now: I'm done with a huge project and am listlessly looking around for the next, wondering not only what I do but who I am and what I am.
The most interesting thing here (as a selfish reader) is what you said about being about eight years old and needing the care an eight-year old would need. I am conveniently endowed with a nine-year old daughter, and I think your insight into the sort of self-care that should go with this sort of post-exertion-exhaustion is spot on.
