1. Roleplaying is what started me on the SciFi connection - haven't roleplayed in years now. Thank you, RPG's! 2. Segway's concept is great, the physical application is fairly useless except for large factory floors and suburbia. 3. The only action figure I have isn't really active it's a "Buddy Christ" 4. Glasses are the backup alternative to contact lenses now.
Am I becoming less nerdy? I don't know - maybe. Hell, I'm the uber-sysadmin for a software company that specializes in writing software for mobile gadgetry. I can kick tech with the best of them.
But - I smoke (cigarettes AND occationaly pot), drink, drive a heavy motorcycle, have actually slept with a girl (and still do, thanks to my lovely lady!), and am pretty open to other people's opinions about pretty much anything. Such things clearly differentiate me from the larger "nerd" stereotype.
