Being a Real Adult is HARD, you guys. D:

Although, to be fair, my graduate job applications angst has calmed down somewhat after the last post that LJ ate, because there was a law careers fair on Thursday and I feel both more generally employable and much less aimless than I did before it. It always makes me calmer when I have a goal in mind, because I get uneasy without some form of ( Read more... )

Well it was a babysitting job. XD But it was a regular weekly thing. And it's legal to employ people from the age of 14 and 9 months, which I probably was, but of course it's not strictly enforced with cash-in-hand jobs like dishwashing or babysitting anyway.

Indeed I did! About a week or so ago, actually, I forgot to mention. *g*

We will not speak of the ugg boots, they sound like everything that is wrong with the world, but did you get actual boots too? There are some GORGEOUS ones out at the moment, I spent ten minutes today lusting after some heeled boots in kneehigh tan leather. And then I sighed and got a pair of flat Hush Puppies ankle boots.

I did, actually, zip-up knee highs with low heels. They're black leather, but cloth behind the calf so they're really soft and stretchy. :)

The great thing about the ugg boots is that they are so SOFT and FUZZY and WARM. Also the whole revolting sugary shoujo manga-ness of them amuses me.

Wait till I am in Orange next winter, I am sure I'll be on the lookout for fuzzy warm things. I don't even need half the coats I own, in Sydney.

I enjoyed how much of this was my fault. :D :D :D :D And I'm kind of vaguely envious of your pink ugg CCS boots because that actually sounds really, really adorable. Normally, I don't care for uggs, but if they looked like Sakura's shoes? YEAH, I WOULD TOTALLY WEAR THOSE.

Congrats on the finished job--in one stroke you've earned more doing translating than I ever have doing voice acting in 3 years. (To be fair, I haven't been looking for jobs and have only been working with people who approach me first, but still.)

ETA: On an unrelated note... if Doug and I were to pass through Canberra, would there be room for us to crash, or would you be able to recommend something really cheap?

Also, that's AU dollars, they're slightly less shiny. XD But yeah, I was lucky to get it. Even if did actually take a fair amount of work - it was for a TV documentary, so I had to listen to it like a billion times to catch what people were saying about sake. *g*

And sure! I'd have to ask my parents, but we have a spare room and I'm sure they'd be perfectly happy to put you up. :) Whenabouts will you be here?
