After looking through every single discount airline, train, and bus company website in all of Europe in at least 8 different languages, I've planned out the first portion of the August trip. Italy is the worst country for hitch-hiking?! Since when?? I hitch-hiked there in 1998 and have never gotten lifts as fast before in my life. I thought it was a breeze.

Oh well, I guess people who say that have never tried to hitch-hike in Finland :/ And yes, I remember trains being pretty cheap too.

I've heard from a bunch of different people that they never had as hard of a time ANYWHERE that they did in Italy. but I haven't taken any formal polls. :)

I am also a compulsive trip planner. Which I pair with total fear of commitment when it comes to making travel plans. Which reminds me I need to go look up train times to Patra. I hear it's more beautiful, but slower than the bus. How am I going to decide?
