I think that when people don't listen to the Don Quixote's for long enough things build up until you get a revolution.
A Dream Deferred by Langston Hughes
What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun? Or fester like a sore-- And then run? Does it stink like rotten meat? Or crust and sugar over-- like a syrupy sweet?
I memorized that poem in seventh grade. Not for a class. I'm not even sure how I found it. Except that I practically lived in the library until I was 14.
Everytime someone brings this poem up, I get this strange deja vu-like feeling. Like I should really pay attention. Like someone from somewhere or somewhen is trying to tell me something.
