Well well well....Call backs for How To Succeed in Business were interesting last night. I went in, sang for one character, read for another, sang for a third character...they definitely had trouble with casting..! I haven't done so many roles in one night! haha...I guess it ended up good though. I didn't get the lead I wanted... but I did get a ( Read more... )

Hedy LaRue is a GREAT part. The show can be really hilarious too if it's done right. Make sure they know it's not supposed to be SERIOUS AT ALL! Summer Stage did the show last summer, and Hedy is actually a pretty big part too. I like her better than the lead b/c the lead is sorta a lovesick girl who lets her man walk all over her. Anyway, you can play that part up to be sexAAY and hilarious. Honestly, the girl I saw do it last summer played it a lot like Adelaide... something tells me you won't have trouble with that... I'm not entirely sure why though... ;-)

And I know what you mean about the theatre companies. That's how I felt last year when I joined Savoy (the Gilbert and Sullivan society up here), but I knew I really just HAD to be a part of it after seeing the show the previous year. Now those people are my best friends, and I'm certainly gonna be one of those clique-y upper classmen with all the inside jokes ;-)

Good luck with Rocky, and congrats on Hedy. You'll be great!

thanks britt!! i love you, you made me more excited for this show! and the part! haha. I guess I JUST played that... dumb, squeaky, annoying kinda character, which is always fun, don't get me wrong- I LOVED playing Adelaide!!! But, I dunno, I kinda wanted that romantic lead thing..a little change... you know what I mean, ;) Oh well, for a first show, should be a fun time.

Read through is tomorrow- rock onn.

I'm still anxious for ROCKY HORROR. What a sick show :)!

Talk to you soon- WHATS YOUR SCREEN NAME DUDE?

Yeea... I definitely know what you mean. I guess I'm kinda on the other side of that card since I'm ALWAYS cast as something romantic... or a little girl or something. Like, Dorothy or Mme Dubonnet in The Boyfriend. I want to play the "fun" character ;-)

But regardless, you'll have a great time in the show, and with Hedy. OH, and the movie isn't anything like the show. It's a cute movie, and maybe worth watching, but you won't really learn much from it. I'd buy the recording or something.

Reelbigaaronlover is my sn.
