Movie Review; Shogun's Ninja; Part One; Request

Jul 27, 2008 22:09

Alright. This is something I've been wanting to do for a while now,  so I'm so glad I've finally gotten around to it.  I hope those reading can enjoy it as much as I do.

It's my first-ever movie review!  Naturally, I'll put it in two parts so as to not bombard everyone with an entire novel to read in one entry.  Also:  If you have any really ( Read more... )

I love this movie. I know it is truly a painful excuse for a Japanese historical drama but i can't help but crack a simle everytime i see the kissing kabuki or hear that crazy tree climbing noise.

That was pretty damn epic, and reminds me of all the Hindu story-epics they serialized for tv in India around...probably a little while after this movie. Better soundtrack, I'd think. And I totally flailed like the history fangirl I am when I saw Toyotomi Hideyoshi's name.

Takamaru could be an old-school JE boy and OMG Otsu DOES look like Keiyuu there!! Hideyoshi could totally afford hotter concubines than that one, bleh.

I look forward to part two!!

And I've been meaning to share this with you, because it seems pertinent to the time period...in the 60s there was this bollywood film called Love in Tokyo where, through a ridiculous plot I will bore you with on request, an Indian guy falls for a Japanese girl, but she's actually an Indian chick disguised as a Japanese. Yeah. Really. Anyways, the movie has a hit song (for the time), "Sayonara, Sayonara", so I hope you'll enjoy it. I'd have posted this to my journal, but the youtube person disabled embedding T_T

hahha, I'm glad I'm not the only one who just gets ridiculously excited when historical figures I like show up places they frankly have every right to be in.

Yodo is pretty hot for a fat shrew, but maybe that's just my type. -_-

Thank you SO much for that link, it was AWESOME. If you get the song, I want it. I can't describe right now how much fun that was to watch.

I've been meaning to tell you, I've been listening to your Bollywood mix, and I really enjoy "Didi Tera Devar Deewana". Oddly enough, it reminds me of a lot of the old pop songs my mother always listened to when I was young. If you have any more like these, I want them. I also got many songs by traditional-syle pop singer Falguni Pathak that I told you about, as well as "Dhoom Machale", if you want them. ^_^

Historical figures need fans, too! ^_^ And if fat shrew is your type...I'll still respect you as a friend, Tatchi XD

I'm glad you liked the song!! I should really re-watch Love in Tokyo, it has to be online somewhere...I have the song, but I had bought it off iTunes so it has the lock on it that prevents it from being on played elsewhere. I can try to break it though. In the meantime, this place has a lot of film music, and if you search by movie name it should come up.

I'll send you the rest of the songs of that movie, Hum Aapke Hain Koun (Who Am I To You?) and I'll poke through my 90s-ish collection for you. I actually don't have a lot of Falguni Pathak so that would be cool, but take your time ^_^

That's good. Expensive fat ladies and beautiful but insane and frightening ladies seem to be my type.. I don't respect me, so you're a better person than I, ww~

I saw the film Love In Tokyo at the site of the person who uploaded the clips to youtube, streaming. If you can find it for download or a part of the clip, I want to make an icon of a part of it.. Don't worry about the song, if you could just keep an eye out for it elsewhere, that will be fine either way. I will look around the site, and thank you again for the songs!
