I could see if my cousin is interested.

While she is white, all her kids are adopted(she is unable to have her own). Two of them are black. If it's going to involve issues relevant to the black community and race relations, which it sounds like it will, she and her kids might have a useful perspective on it.

I'd be happy to read it to our Beastie Boys, one of whom is mixed and give you their reaction. However just know that I can't give criticism of other's people creative work to save my life. Anything someone slaved and pained to create I can't critisize, I don't have it in me. Just so you know!

I took two senior level university courses on children's lit as part of my English degree... I'd take a peek at it, if you wanted :)

Does spending every summer taking care of kids count? =D I'd be happy to do some beta-reading regardless, though.
