I'm glad I wasn't the only one on your flist saying that. I took a lot of grief for that prediction at work, and I'll get even more when I go back tomorrow.
See...I come to baseball via hockey, and I had the great good fortune of living in Montreal and seeing games in the old Montreal Forum. There were rumours that the old Forum was "haunted," but in a good way: it strengthened the team and they almost couldn't lose at home. I mean okay, not really, but there was a certain magic in the old building. Only one team, the Calgary Flames, ever won the Stanley Cup on MOntreal's home ice. And until the Yankees passed them, the Montreal Canadiens held the record for most pro championships in any sport (24); they also hold the record for most wins in a row (5 Stanley Cups from 1955-56 to 1959-60) and they're tied for second place with the Islanders for 4 in a row (1975-76 to 1978-79).
And they've never won the Cup since they moved to their new arena. They've never even made the finals...the closest they got was Eastern Conference finals where they lost to Tampa, of all teams

But, I can't deny saying it.
