On Saturday, I walked from Dave's to the post office. I've been meaning to take a photo of the odd hodgepodge of buildings and signs that is
House of Hurwitz Propane. I'd also seen cats lounging under parked cars at times...and Saturday, they all came together.
Walking by, I saw a couple looking at something through the chainlink fence. I suspected it was the cats, so I walked over; sure enough, it was not only cats but three kittens!
I think this is mom and dad...
There were two black kittens. I think they were a girl, with amber eyes, and a boy with green eyes.
Then there was the tabby brother. He was the first to come on my side of the fence.
He ran back when he realised I'd seen him.
Three of the family: Mom (far back), brother (middle) and sister (front).
They were taken care of, because look at all the litter buckets.
The shot I didn't get was right after this, when she stood up and batted that round thing above her.
Most of these pictures (all but the ones under the bush and on the steps) were taken through the chain link fence;
in some of them, like this one, you can see a bit of the wire.
This was, I think, a kitten from a previous litter. I think she was a female.
She's the one who came the closest to sniffing my fingertips.
After a while, the tabby and the girl kitten got brave and went outside the fence to play under a bush.
Mom did, too. But Dad actually hid when he saw me and never came close to me.
This is the little girl - by far the most active and adventurous - watching two Cocker Spaniels walk by.
The little green-eyed boy was the second-tamest kitten, after the older sister. He sat close in the meatloaf position.
