I've been looking through the details released in the Pathfinder previews, desperately trying to make sense of everything, in an effort to be ahead of the game with regard to Dance of Dice Productions and making our products compatible

Also, so far 4E lets you play Drow, Shadar-kai, Dhampir, and now Revenants. Wow. Given that the designers complained about the number of elven subraces in the game before, they sure are coming up with a lot of Emo subraces.
I just posted a few nit picks and quibbles I have with the rules myself. On the other hand, in the end, the system does look like its still moving in the direction I would want to go, even if the movement isn't quite as smooth as I would like myself.

I don't think anyone really wants another under-developed emo race.
I loved your comments on the Pathfinder RPG so far. I left a comment. One thing, related to the 4E rant, that I didn't go into, was the Pathfinder races. This was kinda relevant to us, as we had this discussion on the weekend.
What's up with removing the favored class mechanic? Well, actually, it's still there, but it serves no non-mechanical purpose. I hope that the races have all been rebalanced to include the fact that they can all choose their favored class.
And don't get me started on the new turning mechanics, clerics with fireballs, paladin's mercy, armor changes, etc.
*Whimsy Sigh* More ties to AD&D severed....

I'm also not really sure I'm happy with half-orcs getting a floating +2. The game rules are kind of sort of suppose to support the fluff . . . all of the fluff says that half-orcs are stronger than other races . . . but I can picture a ton of half-orcs that don't pick strength now as their floating +2.
I would have almost rather half-orcs got a +2 to strength with no other +2 and no penalty for their aggregate +2 than to have a floating +2.
Ah well.
