Six inchers on the last day of school (ever!)

I'm trying to arrange a little thing for the tall girls for the last day of school (we're in grade 12). Those of us 6'+ shall wear really high heels. 8D There are four of us, I think. My 6'1 friend is on board. She's already worn heels to school a couple times, but they've only been about 3 inchers. My 6' friend will probably join in, but she had ( Read more... )

I want to be diplomatic here, so no offense meant, but if you are not fully comfortable doing this (you say you're nervous, looking for "comebacks", afraid you'll fall down), it seems pointless and sort of unfair for you to organize your other friends to do the same thing. Why celebrate by wearing high heels if they're not something you already embrace? Choose something that will make you all feel great!

Agree 100%. If you're not comfortable, I wouldn't do it on such an important day. You're already going to have a lot on your mind.

I've been 6'4 since my junior year of high school, and I wore my 5" platforms on Halloween that year. That was hilarious. I wore my generic comfy white kitten heel sandals (that had lasted through two proms and a thousand church functions) for graduation. I did wear 3" platforms the day before grad, but it was my birthday and I always wear fun shoes on my birthday.

Bottom line: Go for comfort and style, not shock value.

That day is probably going to be one of THE least important days. Nothing left to learn, no more school to anticipate, too late in the year for any tests. So there'll be a little bit of exam preparation and that's it. :3
I'm mostly nervous because I'm clumsy. I walk into things a lot, in flat shoes. :S But I think I'll regret not doing it soo much… It seems like a lot of fun. But sure, I'll definitely take your advice into consideration. As the day comes nearer, if I'm worrying about it, I guess it's not a good idea

I think you should do it if you're happy to. There's a great quote by a Coney Island bearded lady that I apply to life: "If you 'whatever' something, everyone else 'whatevers' it too." If you and your friends are together most of the day, the visual joke will work better. Treat it as a wink-wink-yes-we-know-we're-uber-tall joke, be happy to pose for photos, and then no-one (hopefully) will be dumb enough to make rude comments.

Have you considered doing it for charity? 'Raising' money? Then anyone who mocks you is officially A Terrible Person.
