I have just counted my pairs of shoes, neatly positioned around the entry hall and my bedroom. 56 pairs. I gave away 6 pairs last week (the really high heels that I can no longer wear due to age and buggered back issues). That means I had 62 pairs. Oh and then there are the 2 pairs of boots from the UK in the cupbpard. aand the 3 new pairs I haven'

Hm ... I used to have lots of shoes but lost the vibe to buy new shoes and eventually as you cast off the skank ones ... well ... give me a couple of months and you won't be alone in this.

I didn't give away skanky shoes ... I gave away 6 pairs of barely worn beautiful shoes (some with shiny bits, others red leather Mary Janes from Italy) ... about $1000 worth of shoeage. To a good home.
