Morientes Tour 2011 hits Kuwait

Jul 10, 2011 20:47

End of June beginning of July-ish, Mori was in Kuwait for some kind of tournament-meeting-the-people type of function (seriously, the man needs a webpage, just for clarity).

My God that man is pretty.

*shakes head in eternal wonderment*

Really, really pretty. As in, "What shiney cars?"

I suspect the media gig still doesn't feel like a real job.

Ah yes, but he does have all those kids + wife to keep in style. And with Spain's economic woes, it's good to have a job!

I had the same thought. Though I would take him and the car, the wax job is pretty impressive on those things.

I'm so on your side on that point. Retired footballers of Mori's stature are very privileged to be able to jump straight into another career without any formal training. I'm sure there are plenty of unemployed people with communications degrees who wish they were in his position. I'm not convinced the media thing is more than a side gig for him though, and since he has the means I'd like to see him spread his wings.

♥ He does get the randomest gigs. But as long as it means we still get to see him in the press...maybe something more related to football will come up for him.

That's what I'm holding on to, at least he hasn't disappeared into the ether! He's still making bread!

His outfit when he's visiting with the cars makes me very sad, but the airport picture is fantastic. Why does he look so adorably tiny? He's not tiny, is he?

Also, props for finding the Vintage and Classic Car Museum of Kuwait's Facebook page -- that's why you are the true Sage of Mori.

Forgive him, for he knows not what he does! (Why are the DSquared shirt sleeves and hems so long? Usually they like to show more skin than that.) Mori's clothes are fitting him loosely since retiring and it can make him appear a bit dainty. There are some photos where he appears to be swimming in fabric, his whole wardrobe could use a refitting. I tend to think of him as The Incredible Shrinking Mori.

*cough* Yes, "finding" the museum in my google alerts was very hard. I bet Mori has secret relatives out there posting pics of him on Facebook and twitter that I miss out on all the time.

ETA: Also he's in one of those cushy chairs big enough for two or three people that they like to roll out for VIP people. I look forward to seeing many shrunken retired footballers in huge chairs when the WC hits Qatar.

(They do seem as if they were from the early 90s, when long sleeves on tshirts were oddly popular. You don't think Mori's had that one for a really long time, do you?) Awwwww, poor guy, is he losing all his muscle? He needs to call up Luish, I'm sure he can take him to the gym once or 80 times a week and get him on a muscle-building program.

Ha! Ok, I rescind my impressed-ness. :p But Facebook comes up in Google alerts? I would almost swear that's never happened with mine, I can't bear to think about all the things I'm missing that aren't even family-posted.

ETA: *chortle* Maybe Raul, Mori and Luish all crammed into the same one, with room the spare? We can only hope.

(If you knew what Mori dressed like in the 90's you wouldn't suspect him of keeping those shirts for over a decade.) He's not losing all of it! Just the unnecessary 'have to constantly lift weights because I'm the target man' muscles. Not that I would mind seeing him gym bunnying with Figo.

Facebook, twitter and tumblr do come up often enough on Google alerts. This is the first time it was something I hadn't seen before though.

ETA: Okay, that would be adorable. You've raised my hopes now, I'm going to be so disappointed in 2022 if there isn't a camera on all of them sharing a gigantic throne of a chair at all the Spain and Portugal matches.
