Link Round-up

Oct 25, 2007 19:18

I need to finish the Camoranesi spam, but I was behind in LJ surfing and I was looking at things that might be relevant to the football fandomers on my FL, so I figured I might as well do a link round-up. :D
Milan, Chelsea, Arsenal, Roma, Barcelona, links with some thumbnails at the end )

roma, chelsea, arsenal, milan, barcelona, picspam, football

I just watched the Arsenal highlights again. I just can't find the words to express how awesome they are, really.

Also: does Henrik have a mustache? Why does Henrik have a mustache?

Oh, God, yes, he's experimenting with facial hair, I was going to complain about that. It's a weird goatee type of thing he's been cultivating for like, a month as far as I can tell.

Henrik! *slaps him with newspaper* No! That is a bad look. You look creepy.

Oh my god, I love this post beyond all reason. You are a fandom goddess to me. Thank you, thank you. How did Paolo look in the 'brief glimpse,' by the way? Was he unimaginably handsome and imperious, or was he lounging on the bench with his dentures out massaging his knee?

Actually, he had his tongue sticking out of the corner of his mouth while otherwise looking deadly serious. Not real sure what that is--daring us mere mortals to perve?

Perve as you would be perved upon, perhaps that is a Maldini thing.

Oh, Paolo. And we all thought you were sitting there, intently brooding on the big hole your club's dug themselves in your absence, but really you're just looking at thighs.

The visitors had their chances, too, but the final goal of the evening belonged to European legend Henrik Larsson (pictured).
Henke! Oh, Henke. I will always love him, even with dodgy facial hair.

Speaking of cute Argies:

♥ Even with the flock of journalists who love to question his credential, there are secret Henke admirers giving him his due. And I just realized he wasn't wearing the usual undershorts so he's showing off more thigh than usual. Woohoo!

Aaaaaw, Leo and Kun, that is an exchange of blushing glances if ever I saw one.

And I'm hoping Eto'o is back for real this time, crossing my fingers and everything, even if I don't get to see him and Deco in the stands together. And I saw the Leo and Titi and Bojan pics you posted, gosh, Bojan is so little but his legs are huge. And it's wonderful to see Thierry happy again, with his short little Argie buddy. :p

(OMG the rumors about Mourinho at Valencia are both scary and thrilling. On the one hand I want to unleash him on those absurd ultra fans, he would flay the skin off of their bones and eat them for breakfast. But Quique doesn't deserve a dismissal. The team is in flux, I can't see it as being all his fault that they're having bad results. I am watching the news with bated breath)

I love reading articles by Scottish journalists about Henke - they're so hero-worshipping.

Speaking of Kun, I just read a rumour that he's dating...wait for it...Maradona's daughter. O.o

Eto'o has apparently learned from the last time and is going to come back patiently. Well, I say that, there's not a patient bone in his body, bless him, but I think he's going to be more cautious this time.

I just went and checked the Bojan pic, and you're right, he's quite stocky. Guess that's why he can play against the big guys and not get knocked around despite not being all that tall.

The English press had me expecting a sulky character in Titi, but he's been rather cheerful so far. Although I'm used to Sammy, who's pretty grumpy himself, so maybe that's why.

(I agree with you about Valencia. Mourinho there would be hilarious given the way the fans are, but poor old Quique. I would miss him and his eye-liner. But wait, maybe he can go to Sevilla?)

Huh, if that is true, Maradona letting one of his daughter's date one of the so-called New Maradonas is particularly rich. They'd be better off not being out in the open about it though. :p A dynasty to rival the Maldinis could be the result.

Oh, man, Thierry is not that grumpy at all, he just doesn't hide how he feels. And the press likes to harp on and on about the eyerolls and expansive sighs and shrugs. I used to read The Sun articles and wonder who the hell they were talking about. His bad moments pass quickly (except when he's in the middle of a divorce) and he's cheery and friendly and loving up on his teammates again soon enough. But you are seeing that first hand now. :D

(I hope he gets Sevilla if he goes. I would miss his peculiar personality at Valencia though, but at least Mourinho is weird enough to fill his shoes.)

Thanks for posting all these. I haven't had a time to go through all of them, but they definitely save me a lot of time hunting around. *mwah*
I came across that vid of Sandro shopping in Milan as well, man, I think one of the chinese players was fanboying him. =P
and *pouts* Jens not playing makes me sad. =(

You're welcome. *kiss kiss* I hope things are better for you btw, I saw you mentioned having some rl complications in your journal.

Sandro was so getting fanboyed, that vid was so cute. Jens' situation is making me sad too, I don't want him spending the tail-end of his career like this. Arsenal's success is bittersweet for me.
