There are far too many reminders that hang in life. Derek, of all people, can speak to this. Perhaps that makes it lucky he passes by. Perhaps that means they will sympathize with each other.
But at the moment, perhapses cannot be debated. They have barely even seen each other yet and have not spoken at all. Derek enters the scene because he is attempting to head up the stairs as well. Is he a little drunk? Another perhaps. It is one of his first nights at the bar, and what does one do at a bar?
Trip over teenagers on the stairs, apparently. This is how Derek enters the scene. Slightly drunk, little sleep, and tripping over a kid on the stairs. Poor, poor Riku.
Well, gee. Poor Riku indeed. A concussion has got to be a good excuse not to go upstairs. He's surely not hurt in a way that even approaches what happens to him in a lot of battles, but -
Well, anyway. Riku sort of hits the wall and that's it, other than someone tangling on him.. He makes a pretty surprised and loud noise. "What the f -- ?"
