Today, I received a letter from Astrid. Apparently she felt the need to send me photos from when I was nine. Since it was St. Lucia's Day, I, in her mind, needed photographic reminders of the time I insisted on dressing like a nisse to school. Wonderful

I'm guessing for the same reasons you said when we talked. I stand by what I said though. If it's important to him, he'll be willing to work for it.

I'll make him work for it, if nothing else; that's not really a problem. I just...he does what he wants with little apparent consideration to others' reactions,and he's always underfoot. Hard to gain perspective with him always there.

But that maybe the only way he can prove himself. It's harder to show he's sincere when he's not around.
