EMERGENCY Help-Me-Pay-My-Rent-A-Thon!
Thank you all for supporting my comics over the last year. I need money. Though I have a well-paying job, they have stopped calling me for shifts. My rent for September is overdue, and I'm not sure how I'm going to pay October's rent. I am looking for other work, but some of my expenses are pressing. I need to pay for my internet connection in order to keep updating my site every day, and I have outstanding debts that need to be addressed. I would not come to you for donations if it was not very urgent. If you feel that you can affordably donate $5.00, I would appreciate it greatly. If you feel you could donate more, please do so. If each of you in my friends list were to donate just $10.00, I would be able to cover my most urgent expenses.
For every $20.00 raised, I will quit smoking for a day. This is an act of good faith to assure you that the money that you donate will go towards my most pressing expenses, not towards supporting my habit. That means that if I am able to raise $600.00, I will quit smoking entirely.
If any of you feel that you'd like to donate $100.00 or more, I will send you a Sticks and Stones Gratitude Package, which will include copies of my books ("Wanna Go Ride Bikes," and the yet to be available online, "Priest vs Bear"), a tee shirt, and a surprise print. If you do decide to make such a generous donation, please include your mailing address when you donate.
Finally, in honor of this limited time donation period, I will spend the next 24 hours writing a comic an hour. 24 hours from now, the donations will close, and hopefully everyone who wanted to donate will have had the chance.
This is all a shot in the dark. I know most of you are poor comic artists too. But, if nothing else, I'm hoping to be able to buy some groceries.
