Will Mr. Medvedev go to the Kuril Islands?
I would like to draw attention to a month-old affair, which started to fade out a little bit.
On his way back home from China Mr. Medvrdev decided to go to the Kuril Islands.
Immediately, a reprimand from Japan followed. They strongly advised Mr. Medvedev not to, and threatened with severe worsening of relations.
The visit was canceled because of the ‘weather conditions”. Quelle coincidence!
Anyway, Medvedev has accepted the challenge, he said, “I will certainly fly there. This is a very important region of our country”
There was an information from the government that the president might combine his voyage to the Kurils with the summit in Yokohama on November 13 to 14.
The situation is tough.
Now we shall see if Mr. Medvedev has any guts.
