I have wondered for a time, why is it that geopolitical escalation has started growing almost simultaneously, almost in all corners of the world?

Because the temporary post-Cold-War situation where there was a monopolar world dominated by one superpower, is naturally coming to an end as former superpowers are restoring their stature. New power centres are emerging or old ones are getting restored, and trying to assert more favourable geopolitical positions for themselves - and this inevitably causes friction.

A missile shield....or a better relationship with the folks you're worried are gonna shoot missiles at you in the first place...

Prevention vs cure...?

I guess the obvious, ideal choice is to get both, but can they get both? Or will China/US make them pick who they like more?

And why the hell is their election season only two months? You need at least a year and a half to properly build up your disgust and contempt for your options and your fellow citizens.

Well, I hope they pick the US friendly candidate.

Not so much for geostrategic reasons (isn't Japan pretty much right there anyway?) - I just selfishly want Hyundais to stay available, and at reasonable prices...

Two months seems just about right - I mean, for any normal country. ;-)
