The quasi civil war continues

There are so many shootings in the US, with so many victims, that the fact that the police are still wondering whether to treat the latest California massacre as an actual terrorist attack or not, does not appear to be that relevant at this point. We've got to put this in context, so here's some:

Number of people killed annually by firearms in the ( Read more... )

I've realized it's pointless to try to convince the larger part of the American audience that the current state of gun control in their country is FUBAR. So far the experience has been comparable to repeatedly hitting my head against a brick wall.

Oh, but our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, I kid you not.

As an American, I can confirm that we're praying and waiting, with very bated breath (the most bated it's been yet!), for God to act to stop this horrible societal situation that, um, happened to us. I mean, we'd love to do whatever we can, but we're so meek and God so powerful that he couldn't possibly be asking us to fix a problem that we- that was caused. By... something.

Prayers would do, then.

Depending on what source you rely on, lets say there's about one firearm for every person in the US - so we can rule out rounding the guns up.

The most recent shooting happened in the state with the strictest gun laws - so we can rule out more laws and regulations helping.

Maybe There is no absolute solution. Maybe the bandaids we're putting over the bullet wounds are the best we'll ever be able to do.

I can bet my balls that the guns those two idiots used in California were acquired in another state. A state without California's strict gun laws. Maybe you guys could start addressing the problem by looking into that.

Not necessarily. The guns they used were excluded from the list of guns that are considered assault rifles because the law is specific about exactly what models are considered to be assault weapons. Chalk another one up for the NRA.

Don't bet your balls. These weapons were purchased legally in California.

A law enforcement source told CBS News senior investigative producer Pat Milton the weapons were purchased legally in California. The long guns were legally transferred from a friend.

After Sandy Hook it became pretty clear the American political class puts the rights to own firearms over children's lives. The gun debate is over in the US. The ammosexuals won and the price you will pay is in mass shootings.

Conservatives seem to only care about human life while it's in the uterus. Once it's out, other priorities take precedence over it.

One of the arguments for restricting firearms in the US is that the US is going to become a shooting gallery. It has since guns restrictions have been essentially removed in all 50 states. Except the shooting gallery is all one sided. The NRA's solution? Make it two sided.
