The butterfly effect is a well known concept in chaos theory. It says that if a butterfly flaps its wings at the opposite end of the world, in time it would cause a hurricane at this side, because every little occurrence could set up an unpredictable chain of cause and effect.

Is it just me, or we're so quick to forget all the planes, special forces, military equipment and other direct involvement of the European countries in Libya? The all-out logistical, information and propaganda support for the Arab Spring, the funding and media support for the civil war in Syria against Assad the devil, all the training and arming of extremist radical Islamists who are fighting a jihad from Afghanistan to the Levant, etc, etc... The West has got exactly what it had been working for. Well, maybe the result isn't exactly what they expected, but yeah. You reap what you sow.
