Yes, the increasing refugee wave is putting serious challenges in front of your country. But at the same time this crisis situation hides some opportunities. Because if you guys choose a sensible policy, your country could actually benefit from all this.

I am talking of the ages-old attempts of Bulgaria to join the Schengen area. If what your authorities are doing for the Syrian refugees in this complicated situation proves that Bulgaria is capable of being a reliable partner in defending EU's borders, the mouths of the constant critics could be shut forever, and the doors to Schengen would finally be open.
