Why doesn't the suburb of Mexico just secede like they always do and make their suburban status official? Or better yet, just get annexed by Mexico like they were supposed to do in the battle of the Alamo.

There is a reason they make chocolate and vanilla.

That being said, obviously Perry struck a nerve. The truly New York thing to do would be ignore it. Like Kitty Genovese.

Kind of like with Trayvon Martin.

Since when has the "truth" mattered? The narrative is the only truth, amirite?

The story of turning red states more purple due a population shift in the US?
That's a great story!

which leaves one wondering why so many people are fleeing NY if its so great.

soooo many.....are fleeing NY if its so great.

That still leaves about oh about 20 million that haven't fled, so they must think its great! Those who are leaving are just making more room for the new arrivals. So 700,000 leaving out of a state population of 20 million with a constant influx of new arrivals by being at the crossroads of the world, with plenty a lot more wanting to come here. New York City has had an increase of 160,000 in just the last two years; and the city's population is expected to continue to soar over the next two decades. It's like Jerry Brown said when heard heard about Rick Perry's ad knocking California, it's a fart and a burp. And with that migration turning red states more purple along with minority populations already living in those red states, and Republicans apparent inability not to antagonize those demographics, and get them to vote Republican, that's just icing on the cake.

I don't always like Lewis Black, but that was good.

I keep hoping that Rick Perry campaign to try to lure business to Texas will backfire on him if he chooses to run for president in 2016. My thought is that it would make it harder for him to win Republican primaries in those states, since what he's doing is basically trying to threaten the local economy in those states. And I mean, especially after the recent abortion legislation, who the fuck would want to live in Texas? Come on.

5-8 year old data? So, like, while GWB was president, Texas seemed desirable?

Interesting how Texas was (in 2005-2007) in the top 10 for inflow and outflow: 2nd in inflow, 4th in outflow. Maybe people like the image better than the reality.
