In a larger sense, the idea is to develop habits and instincts that would allow the protest movements to start formulating their messages more clearly.

I'm not so sure. The OWS protests refused to to that, which probably led to their being treated by the press as more than a blip to be dismissed. They rather protested that something is very wrong (which it was) and that someone should do something (which kinda happened).

Maybe if a situation was as wrong as the corporate capture of the entire financial system, this applies. Elsewhere, maybe not. Hard to say.
