Israel's actions are indefensible by any standard reliant on genuine morality where words have meanings and where society is accepted as having a basis over the effective use of force. Unfortunately in reality, society relies on effective use of force more than any higher basis. The situation is also not going to change any time soon because the USA has the attitude of 1920s Europe that Arabs are subhuman barbarians to whom no wrong can ever be sufficient to motivate even basic sympathy toward.

I'm enjoying the comments on this thread that seem to justify Israel's punishment of the whole of the Palestinians for the actions of a few.

Actually, all of the justifications for Israel's routine genocide tickle my pickle. Is the JIDF in here or something?

And I'm enjoying most everyone ignoring the terrorist attacks, though the ones justifying the attacks are a bit sickening.

I'm enjoying that you're missing that nobody's justifying the terrorist attacks, only calling you out on a ridiculous statement that five seconds of Google would have cleared up and that nobody remotely familiar with South African history (and that's all I am with that, remotely familiar. I've read one book on the Boer War and one general history of the region, and that ain't more than remote) would have known better than to say. I'm also enjoying that like most Israeli-Palestinian threads this tends to boil down to the idiotic assertion that the IDF is so fragile a bunch of people incapable of winning a battle, let alone a war, are a serious threat in one thread and a glorified terrorist movement in another, and missing that they can't be both.

Flogging a dead horse. For the second time.

As far as your other comments, I see them (collapsed) and I'm not even going to bother reading them.

So let me get this straight...

Israel can do no wrong, and if they do and you call them out on it you're an anti-Semite or pro-terrorist person.

The situation in Israel does not compare to apartheid South Africa because the Palestinians deserve their current treatment. This isn't apartheid apparently it's just simple pest control.

All Palestinians should be treated as terrorists

Settlement in Palestine is just the age-old tradition known as the spoils of war, people have been desecrating, violating and wholefully destroying the lives of conquered peoples for countless generations! Why stop now?

Gee, stay classy people.

Pretty much what I gathered from the whole ordeal.

You forgot to mention: "Imprisoning an entire nation inside their own country is not good, but since it's working nicely for the perpetrators, it should continue".

There's a lot of acrimony and hostility towards each other due to this post. Why not listen to some music rather than yelling over each other?

I'll start the ball rolling, here's a song which always puts me in a good mood,

The Israel topic always tends to cause such reactions, it seems. There haven't been as many Israel-related posts here over the years, at least not as many as in that older political forum where a certain know-it-all seemed to have possessed all the keys to the Ultimate Truth(tm), and that caused a lot of hostility as well.

Still, Israel is way behind topics like abortion and gun rights on the drama list. ;-)

Nice song tho'.

The posts recently have been relatively drama-free, at least in respect to people not getting flagged or frozen, but there's like three in this OP.

Well, when the Trayvon Martin posts start coming (Zimmermann was in court yesterday I think), I'm sure we'll get a spike in mods having to freeze threads.

Post a song that makes you happy! :)

I saw two, and they were nowhere close to being flagged. :-)

All right then!
