First of all, if you’re in the mood for a sci fi short story written by a beautiful, exotic, angry woman, that’s been lovingly collected in a hardcover novel with a bunch of other brilliant sci fi short stories, you might want to order yourself this book.

If the opening line doesn’t sell you, nothing will:

When the aliens invaded earth Lord Valery ( Read more... )

Sure. Add me! Same user name as here (honeyelle).

I failed miserably at nano last year, but this year, I'm on holidays, so hopefully more time. For me, it's merely an output exercise; at least, at this point it is.

And don't worry - you'll reach the goal next week. :D

I should reach the goal next week. 6k should be really comfortable for me, a slight challenge, but very achieveable. Thankfully I'm not the sort to get disheartened at all. I'm pretty chipper about 5500+ actually!

I always fail at nano. It's totally beyond my capabilities. One year, maybe, but at the moment its just way more than I can handle. Never stops me giving it a go though!

I shall add you. I believe mine is traditionalevolution. I'll PM you so you can be sure.

Nano is something I always think I should do. But then I don't.

I know. It's like that, isn't it?

I think you need to not be working/studying at the time though, because it's insane.

Your plan sounds a lot like mine for NaNo. I'm going to try to spread the 50k over the next 2 months as well. I think 50k in one month is a little too ambitious for me and if I try doing that I won't get anything else done.

I can't wait until I'm making people cry! :)

The idea of nano is generally that you don't get anything else done. Grin.

Part of my motivation is that, while I would LOVE to write a month of crapola for November, I have sequels to write so I can show them to publishers and it would be pretty irreponsible to just stop walking on those and burn myself out for fun.

So I'll be working on my WIP and hoping to end November with another first draft.

Smart to do a "two fer" for the Nano thing. I can't do it as I said unless I can jam for the exam and take it the end of this month... which doesn't seem possible.

Good to see a post from you!

Nano is very mentally draining. I wouldn't want to be trying to study and write at the same time, because when you are nanoing properly, there isn't room for much else in your brain. However now you know about it, you can plan to have November of NEXT year free. Grin.

And yes, I am so slack about posting. The worst thing is, I write up posts, then decide they're too boring and don't post them. :P
