Well, I don’t even know if there are words for how today has gone.

Wow.

I’m still optimistic and happy, but mentally and physically drained past breaking point. And it’s 11am. To give you some idea, since I got up at quarter past seven and now, my cold has come bad so fiercely I’ve lost my voice again. Why? Well, let me tell you the tale:

I damn near had a heart attack. When I was trying to pull her out after lubing her up, I heard this snapping, cracking noise like breaking bones. I could have died.

She's okay today. Sulking, but not hurt.

Not so much for me--who has to stick her hand in a tank with a sulking snake and try and put betadine on it.

I get bitten all the time ANYWAY, but this is going to be a slaughter OF MY HAND.

I did finally get food. It was a long time coming. Much like today. Sigh.

It's a small wonder I don't starve to death.

Kitty is fine. Giovanni still has pretty short teeth, even if they are very sharp. I don't think they made it through the fur.

Today I get to wrestle the snake out again and rub her over with betadine.

! Poor snake! And poor you, having to go through that trauma and effort and all. I hope Giovanni will be fine after her ordeal (and the same with Evie as well.)

As far as Tor goes, I live in dread of the day Jim Frenkel retires. Jim's my Tor lifeline...!
