Do cats get pimples? Tally has this odd series of bumps on one of her hind legs, and I'm hoping that they are something completely innocuous and not something terrible and scary. Sigh. I really, really don't want to take her to the vet again--I've taken her twice in last 6 six weeks. Once for her annual check up and once to get her teeth cleaned. ( Read more... )

My childhood cat had acne under her chin! The vet actually suggested rubbing a little clearisil on there. She'd have periodic breakouts but never seemed bothered by it.

Lol, that's actually kind of hilarious. :) I've decided to not worry about Tally's bumps until they either start getting bigger or start bothering her, neither of which has happened yet.

Thank you, thank you!! I read through the entire list, and nothing matched Tally's symptoms, so I'm taking that as a sign that the bumps are probably benign. That, plus the fact that she does not seem at all bothered by them, has eased my worry considerably.

Aww, poor baby! And yes, cats definitely get acne, though I think it's under their chin more often than anywhere else. I'm not sure about leg pimples, but I hope it's nothing serious!

Thanks! I'm still in a wait-and-see mode. I'm not too concerned because the bumps really don't seem to be bothering her at all, and they're not getting any bigger.

Poor Tally :( And poor you, too! And I think possibly poor vet, too. Tally sounds like she can be a terror when she wants too. Despite Cleo having a note on her vets file describing her as "could be grumpy" they sent us a lovely note after she died. I wonder what Tally would want the vet to say about her? "I'll bear the scars forever, but in some cultures they're a mark of respect..."

LOL. It's not quite that bad. She actually only screams--she's never scratched or bitten anyone. It's just that the screams are so amazingly loud that they freak everyone out.
