Maybe I’ll try to write down my Thoughts on humor vids sometime in the future. Please! I beg of you!
I watched all these vids last night (the ones I hadn't seen) and thought they were tremendous. I particularly liked 'Hot Fuzz', 'Anything the Doctor Can do' and 'Supernatural in My Pants' (deirdre_c vids always please me!). I probably wouldn't have found those first two without the panel, so thank you SO MUCH.
Quick question: Too much literalism can be unintentionally funny. Did you mean intentionally?
Would have loved to have been there. Hope you enjoyed this year's con!
Heh. I'll get there someday. Problem is, it's so much easier for me to just make a humor vid than to talk about making a humor vid. :)

Oh, wonderful! I'm so glad you liked them. I was gratified by how well the show went over, as a whole. The room was filled with laughter, and for a first-thing-in-the-morning vidshow, attendance was great.

Actually, I did mean unintentionally. I edited the post to make more sense.

I would, of course, have loved for you to have been there. I hope you're not too turned off by what you saw in other journals. It really is a great con, bar one or two unfortunate missteps. This year was especially nice for me, as it was less about the vidshows and panels and more about the people I got to meet. Lots of new faces and really good conversations.

I edited the post to make more sense. Mm, I get you! I think I have high tolerance for literalism in humour vids, but even so, I agree it's good to vary it up.
I hope you're not too turned off by what you saw in other journalsWell... my feelings about it are insanely conflicted. Believe me, my desire to attend couldn't be huger (so huge I'll pay thousands of dollars!) and I believe you that it's great... but I have a lot of Issues and I feel very alone with them--though perhaps more people share them than I realise. I feel very silenced in/by vidding fandom at the moment and part of that is my own inability to find a voice that is strong but still gracious and grateful (er, that was meant to be 'graceful' but 'grateful' works too). I don't want to offend anyone and--to be painfully honest--I fear rejection by people before they've even given me a chance/met me in person. But sometimes I, and other people I care about, feel really

Oh, do you mean all of the political correctness in the fandom right now? Because I agree that that is a bit off-putting. I'll tell you a little secret: the subtitle to Money Maker (The Economics of Race and Sexuality in U.S. Mainstream Media) was a direct jab at the current P.C. party line, but I don't think anybody really got it. It was one of my own little private jokes to myself. :)
