В нашей квартире был всего один телефон: в прихожей - телефонная розетка была только там. Первые два года, в пылу обустройства, Танька меня уговаривала протянуть провод из прихожей, через всю квартиру, в спальню. Но нам не так часто звонят, чтобы дело того стоило.

Starting Monday, INS (renamed USCIS) will raise all fees: new fee schedule.  Now it will cost $675 to apply for naturalization (US citizenship).

Here is how it changes over time:  it was set at $60 in 1989. It was raised to $90 in 1991, $95 in 1994, $225 in 1999, $260 in 2002, $320 in 2003, $330 in 2005, $400 in 2006, and now $675.

В Америке человек в сильной депрессии не может купить лекарство без справки от врача, зато может купить пистолет. Это гарантируется конституцией. Но с другой стороны, то что у человека паранойя, ещё не повод не продавать ему оружие!

Looking at Forbes Billionaire List ( link ) I noticed that almost all of the richest men are college dropouts. Only Warren Buffett has Master's. But the new trend is to drop out not before Bachelor but from Ph.D. program after Master's (like Goodle twins). So after all, I am not overqualified!
