Things are going slow this year in Nanoland for me. I'm at a little over 12,000 words and I keep thinking of where I SHOULD be. If I don't get too down on myself I know I will make the deadline. Even at this rate, if I could get about 2000 words a day (which I should be doing each and every day Nano or not) I'll finish a winner. I'm afraid I'll be ( Read more... )

THat's what I was going for, too, was consistency. I'm going to a write-a-thon today and will def. catch up, but that's not what I wanted this to be about at all.

I started out at about 2,500-3,000 words, and did just fine. Then I read the stats that said I'd be done with the 50,000 words in the middle of November and it really freaked me out, like, how was that possible, no, that can't be right! so, rather than be that far on the side of angels, I'm this far on the back side of behind. Weird, you know? :D Still, I love that we're doing this, and however it works out or we get there, we do have this.

Good luck, and get some good, well, at least get in some words today :)

I know what you mean, Karen. Even with my vague outline, I find my story foundering. For some reason, I can't seem to find my story and characters. Every once in a while I do see a glimmer, and it sparkles for a scene or so, but then it's gone again. It's frustrating, but I keep plodding on. :)

I hope you had fun at your write-athon. I still haven't been to one here.
