On the novel front, thanks to my beta reader and friend, RoseAnn I know Weeping Women Springs' basic story works. She's a reader (not a writer) and she said it was GREAT, and the writing was as good as the books she buys. That alone makes me feel pretty good. Ooo, I'm so excited for you about your latest project! It is a big step, but hearing words like "page turner" is awesome :)

Yeah, it is pretty awesome. Now I have to do the query which is SO difficult. I was about ready to give up writing anything at all last week.

Also over at CC this week they had an experimental queue (anonymous) where you posted your first 1000 words (like what you might send out to an agent) and people posted quick comments about where they stopped reading and why. I have really mixed feelings about the feedback I'm receiving. First it seemed a bit like bleeding in the middle of sharks. Some will be helpful, but some was just cruel without being helpful at all.

Anyway, all in all I'm really struggling with writing and being positive which after a couple of years of doing nothing but writing I wonder if I'm just not cut out for it. Weird. The feeling will pass, I'm sure, but right now that's the space I'm in. I'm sure I'll feel better when my editor friend gives me feedback as she will be honest about the story but offer constructive criticism.
