It's amazing how technology lures you in to a false sense of security, friendship-wise. I mean, I keep up with most of my real-life friends on LJ that aren't local to me, and I can think, oh, so-and-so is doing just fine this week because I read on his blog that... and never be any the wiser, that so-and-so is having a really fucking tough week
