A Request

OK, I have a request for everyone.

What sorts of feature articles would you like to see from an American anime publication?  These can be opinion pieces, informational, or otherwise - anything but reviews.  I would love it if as many people as possible can reply to this.

What a nice topic. I accept your challenge. :) These are things that I would like to see from an American anime publication.

• Summaries for new content being released/produced (both manga and anime)
• Interviews with studios, actors, artists, authors, directors, media producers and similar experts
• Comparison studies (how shows with similar content compare - i.e. how would you compare two mecha animes)
• Cultural explanations (ex. honorifics)
• Maybe sociological theories (how anime reflects society and vice versa)
• Rating scale for content for easy browsing
• Show screen shots
• IMDB-like information for renown artists (voice actors, directors, studios, etc)
• (online) Wallpapers
• (print) Character art samples

That should be a good starter list, doncha think?

I'd like to see pieces on older verses new released anime on content, quality, and any hidden messages that may be in there and how those messages reflect the political and social climates of their times.

I'd also like to see pieces on process of anime. How is it done, what new styles are being used, and how computers play a role in the advancement of the anime itself.

I'd also like to see a piece on the feelings of people in the business about how they feel about computers in anime. Do they remove some of the "human" element or spirit from the pieces or are they viewed as just another tool for the artist to express themselves with?

Maybe a section that tells about anime that is just SO bad you have to see it.

Opinions. Especially in regard to the future and potential fixes for the industry world wide. Critical analysis in a scholarly manner (content, technical approaches, etc). Less hero worship of particular directors, VAs, etc. Coverage of conventions of all sizes since the financial game starts from the bottom up.

Criticism. Like, real criticism. Like, the sort of thing that video game journalism should've had for years now, but still completely lacks (outside of sources like Insert Credit or The Escapist).
