I'm spending this afternoon playing 40k with Adric

My first reaction was: Adric? The Doctor Who companion from the 1980s?

You don't have to at all of course since you've already been a great help. :) Aaaactually I was kinda wondering if you wanted to keep previewing them or something, y'know, if you had the time and/or inclination, just because the mood's probably going to be really tricky from here on out. I'm actually not sure whether that is the definition of a beta or not but I could start crediting you? And looking over anything you wanted of course. *cough*

Oh, I laughed! No, but my fiancé's parents were Doctor Who fans. XD Luckily not too many people around here are all that familiar with the series!

Oh, I'd love to keep previewing them. Just send anything to me that you'd like to. And of course that's the definition of a beta! There's a confidence-boosting thing, and a chance to talk about and explain your thought processes with the story.
