It actually works perfectly well on linoleoum, hardwood, etc. The only things it seems to have problems with are deep-pile carpet and area rugs with tassled edges.

My cats though. If I even LOOK at the vacuum they hide. They were born feral so... skittish as hell. Any new object introduced to the house is greeted VERY warily. They'd be too scared of it for it to be funny, unfortunately. ::sniffle::
