Listening to the dulcet tones of Taylor Swift for half an hour while being on hold with my doctors office has given me the need to post this now. Also MY BIRTHDAY IS THIS WEEK, so what better way to celebrate?!

Rose/Nine + I felt you in my legs before I even met you

At nineteen, Rose is pretty sure she isn't going to do anything with her life. Yeah, she'll work at the department store, watch bad soaps with her mum and hang out with Mickey and Shareen. But for the foreseeable future? Nothing's going to happen ( ... )

*flails happily*

Oh, man. The thank god just utterly makes the piece for me. I dunno if you've ever watched How I Met Your Mother, but there's an episode in the first season that ends with a character breathing "ohthankgod" before rushing into a kiss, and that scene is part of my soul, and I just... I appreciate the aesthetic, I suppose. It means so much.

Oh, Rose. You've barely begun.

Heee, I'm so glad you liked it!

I don't really watch HIMYM, but I'm really glad that line made you happy, as I was a little unsure about it. So yay! ♥

Doctor/Rose = OTP. ♥

Whatever she was waiting for, whatever made her legs ache with the need to run, whatever she kept looking for over her shoulder, she thinks she's found it.

I love the entirety of this line and this fic. I love the idea that Rose was already looking for something, wanting to escape and needing to just run away. Well done!

Thank you so much! I've always felt that Rose felt that there was something more to her life than what she had. The prompt is actually from a song I included in a Nine/Rose mix of mine, so I was very happy to write this. ♥

Oh, if only she knew. She could never even have imagined something like the Doctor. Sigh!

Great job! :)

Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it. I'm also very fond of the last line - I love when parentheses are used in fic. ♥

Oh, dear. This is beautiful. (And it's heartbreaking, in a way, because don't we all feel like we're waiting for something?) Rose is well done, but I do wish they'd have spent a little more time on how empty Rose had felt in her everyday life. But you covered it so, so well. ♥

Thank you so, so much! I agree: I do wish that more time was spent on Rose's life pre-Doctor and how she felt about basically being in a dead-end sort of life. Anyways, I'm really glad you liked it!

Ahh gorgeous! So well written and I love the idea of Rose somehow being able to feel the Doctor before he comes into her life. So much love for this. ♥

Thank you so much! I've always liked the idea that Rose can tell he's coming before she even knows who he is. ♥

Oh, I adore this! I love the idea that all her life, Rose has known that she has a destiny that's much bigger and grander than the life she's currently living, but she's constantly weighed down by the frustration and constraints on exactly how to pursue the life she wants to live. Her little thank god at the end felt incredibly cathartic, for both Rose and myself!

Absolutely beautiful ♥.

Thank you so much for the lovely comment! ♥ I'm very glad you liked this fic. ♥ I've always felt that Rose could tell that there something or someone out there for her that would give her something more than what she already has. The prompt given was especially perfect, as the song it comes from I've always related to Rose.
